CARITAS supports vulnerable individuals and communities through a range of humanitarian and social interventions aimed at improving wellbeing and dignity. Its health assistance programs facilitate access to quality healthcare by providing referrals to competent partners, supporting the payment of hospital bills, promoting antenatal follow-up for pregnant women, and offering psychosocial support to persons exposed to traumatic situations. In addition, CARITAS addresses food insecurity through the distribution of food items (FI) and non-food items (NFI), while its Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives promote access to clean water, improved sanitation facilities, and healthy hygiene practices within communities.
It also strengthens livelihoods by offering vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and income-generating opportunities. Complementing these efforts, CARITAS collaborates with trained priests and professionals to provide counseling, psychosocial support, and trauma healing, while its communication and sensitization department produces information materials and partners with Divine Mercy Radio and Television to raise public awareness about its programs and services.
