CARITAS of the Diocese of Buea was established in August 2013 as a non-profit association within the local church. It operates under the prerogatives granted by the Code of Canon Law, specifically in sections 308-312 and 393-396, which govern associations of the faithful. The organization has obtained civil recognition in accordance with the relevant provisions of Cameroonian legislation. With 10 years of experience, CARITAS has been dedicated to improving the lives of GBV survivors, women at risk, the neediest, the poorest, and the marginalized in FAKO Division.
