Some staff of Caritas Buea proudly joined the Regional Delegation of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development for the South West Region in Buea, alongside the Buea Council, civil society organizations, and other environmental stakeholders to commemorate World Water Day under the theme “Water and Gender.”
The event was marked by a meaningful cleanup exercise at the Bwitingi/Bwetiva water catchment, aimed at preserving this vital water source. Participants also carried out the planting of environmentally and medicinally beneficial trees, contributing to the sustainability and protection of the ecosystem.
This initiative highlights the importance of collective action in safeguarding water resources, while recognising the critical role gender plays in water access, management, and sustainability.
Caritas Buea, through its WASH Department, remains committed to promoting access to safe drinking water and continues to actively support efforts in combating the cholera epidemic in Fako Division, Cameroon.
